The fashion industry’s environmental impact has long been a concern, with massive carbon emissions and water waste driving the need for change. In response, Emily Gittins co-founded Archive, a company that helps fashion brands create their own resale platforms, making second-hand shopping more accessible and profitable. By offering smart pricing, warehouse management, and data tools, Archive stands out from competitors like Trove and Treet, supporting global brands such as New Balance and Oscar de la Renta. With the second-hand fashion market projected to hit $73 billion in the U.S. by 2028, investors have taken notice, pouring $30 million into Archive’s growth. Favorable policies, like California’s Responsible Textile Recovery Act, further fuel the shift toward resale, and with more brands set to launch their own programs in 2025, the movement toward sustainable fashion is only accelerating.
